Clair L. Benson, 86, of Warren, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at his residence, surrounded by family. Clair was born on May 1, 1934, in Warren, to the late Oscar E. and Christina (LaDrille) Benson. Clair attended Russell School and Warren Area High School. He was employed for 10 years as a truck driver for Furniture Express and then for GTE Sylvania for 15 years. In 1977, he began working for Drill Tech in Alachua, FL, a well drilling and mining equipment company, and had the opportunity to travel the world during his employment. He was a member of the Warren Church of God. He enjoyed camping, horses, jigsaw puzzles, his family and especially his grandchildren. Clair is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patti (Acklin) Benson, whom he married on April 9, 1966; three daughters, Rebecca (Eric) Hinderliter, of Cary, NC, Pamela (Jobi) McAulay, of Pittsfield, PA, and Diedra (Roy) Swanson, of Warren; one son, Ronald L. (Lori) Benson Sr., of Sugar Grove; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Leroy Benson, an infant son, Jeffrey Benson; four sisters, Mabel, Marjery, Florence, Alice; and two brothers, Louis and Robert.
