Cheryl L. Vantassel, 61, of Warren, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at the Warren General Hospital. Cheryl was born on February 14, 1958, in Panama City, FL, to the late Dale E. and Louise (Humber) Gess. Cheryl was a graduate of Ridgway High School and held various part time positions throughout her life. She enjoyed games including bingo and Yahtzee, boating, camping and traveling. She loved animals and spending time with friends. She loved her family and they will all miss her very much. Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Michael Vantassel; her children, Stacy (Dan) Simonsen, of Round Rock Texas and Michael Vantassel Jr., formerly of Warren; her sister-in-law's children, which she raised, Dena Carr and Andrew Darr; her brother, Dale (Diane) Gess, of Ridgway; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Debra Darr; and her brother Stevan Wayne Gess. Memorial services will be planned at a later date.
