Charlotte Jones Calderwood, 87, of Quaker Hill Road, Warren, Pa., passed away peacefully and well cared for at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House on Wednesday, November 21, 2012.
Charlotte was born January 21, 1925, in Little Rock, AR, the daughter of the late Elmer and Burma Russel Jones. She was a 1943 Graduate of Warren High School. She then moved to New York City and worked in the New York Buying Office of Marshall Fields of Chicago. She returned to Warren and worked as a radio broadcaster where she had a one half hour program and did all the advertising for the Betty Lee store.
Charlotte lived a very active life. She was an avid golfer, having scored a hole-in-one in September 1959. She also bowled, skied, and played bridge and tennis. Charlotte was a volunteer at Warren General Hospital and the Meals on Wheels Program. She enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Grabski, and husband, Jack, Erie, Pa., Sally Marshall, and husband, Herb, Barnstable, MA and Stacy Calderwood, and husband, Scott Dinsmore, Cape Elizabeth, ME; two sons, John Calderwood, New London, NH and James Calderwood, and wife, Mary Pat, Shrewsbury, MA; eight grandchildren, Josh Grabski, Patrick, Cooper and Stacy Marshall, Parker Dinsmore and Caroline, Megan and Kate Calderwood; one brother, Carlton Jones, and wife, Sherry, Warren, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Scott Calderwood, whom she married on January 20, 1951 in Warren, Pa., and her brother, Elmer Jones.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Warren County, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, PA 16365.
