Carolyn R. Sorensen, 87, of Warren, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Rouse Home.  Carolyn was born June 17, 1929, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of the late George and Mildred (Samuelson) Johnson.

Mrs. Sorensen attended Grace United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, quilting, and will be remembered for her great cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Roger A. Sorensen, whom she married June 25, 1948; one daughter, Nancy Swanson, and husband, Dale, of Warren, PA; and three sons, Daniel Sorensen, and wife Dr. Joanne, of Russell, PA, Stephen Sorensen, and wife Barbara, also of Russell, PA, and Keith Sorensen, and wife Lorie, of Akeley, PA;  two sisters, Lois Setterholm, of Minneapolis, MN, Nancy Johnson, of Warren, PA; and two brothers, Russell Johnson, and wife, Ruth, of Russell, PA, and Robert Johnson, and wife, Betty, also of Russell, PA; nine grandchildren, Brynne Hinsdale, and husband, Kyle, of Clymer, NY, Dr. Jill Motl, and husband, Brent, of Chicago, IL,  Doug Sorensen, of Russell, PA, Joel Swanson, wife Elphie, of Chicago, IL, Michael Swanson, of Warren, PA, Justin Sorensen, of Mt. Vernon, OH, Tyler Sorensen, wife Ashley, of Markham, VA, Erik Sorensen, of Warren, PA, and Jacob Sorensen, also of Warren, PA; two great-grandchildren, Gerrit and Bryce Hinsdale.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death on March 24, 2008, by her son Andrew Sorensen, of Anchorage, AK; a grandson, Zachary Sorensen; and her step-father, Leonard Garvin.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Friday, March 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.  The funeral will be held there on Saturday, April 1, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain, Rouse Home and Warren General Hospital, officiating. Burial will be at Thompson Hill Cemetery, Russell, PA.
