Obituary

Carolyn A. Skinner, 78, of Main Avenue, Warren, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Warren General Hospital after a brief illness.

Carolyn was born April 7, 1934, in DuBois, PA, the daughter of the late Edward and Pearl Keller Love. Her love of family was her first priority. She loved every minute she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She put them above all else. For the many friends she has met throughout her life, she has left the impression that you could never find a more giving person. One of the many ways she showed her love was making sure you were fed whether you were hungry or not!

Carolyn was a member of The First United Methodist Church. She was also a member and past president of The Warren Garden Club. She and her husband enjoyed taking their family on vacations to the beach and across the country. She enjoyed working at the polls on voting day and was a member of The Bell Telephone Pioneers with her husband. Carolyn had over 2,300 hours of volunteer work at The Warren General Hospital and enjoyed volunteering her time for many years for the Warren Arbor Day Celebration. She supported her children with their many activities in The Boy and Girl Scouts of America. One of Carolyn's favorite pastimes was boating at the Kinzua Dam.
She is survived by her husband, W. Jack Skinner, whom she married on September 20, 1952; her children, Pamela Heinold and husband Gregg of Warren, PA, Steven Skinner and wife Marsha of Julian, PA, William Jay Skinner of Warren, PA, Kimberly Black and husband Jack of Warren, PA, Jennifer Skinner Marks and fiancé Rodney Johnson of Clayton, NC, and Linda Skinner Ruhlman and partner Mike Gurdak of Warren, PA.

Also surviving are her two sisters Margie Siemucha of N. Tonawanda, NY, and Ruth Daugherty and husband Chet of West Deptford, NJ; two brothers, Sam Love and wife Myrna of Kenmore, Washington, and Fred Love and wife Shirley of Cranberry Township, PA; eleven grandchildren, Jasmine Campbell, Trever Schwab, Shiloh Duffy, Mary Skinner, Roxie Black, Summer Black, Miranda Marks, Ava Marks, Cody Clark, Cailyn Clark and Tristan Ruhlman; eleven great grandchildren, Conner Campbell, Lily Brooker, Violet Brooker, Riley Brown, Andi Duffy, Eveangelina Young, Zachary Schwab, Grace Schwab, Miranda Young, Hayden Whitmire, and Holdyn Whitmire; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kellie Skinner; three siblings, Bill Love, Linda Love, and Robert Love and a brother in law, Michael Siemucha.

Friends will be received in the Dunham Parlors at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street, Warren, PA, on Friday, December 14, 2012, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held, with Dr. Rev. Jeffrey D. Sterling, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Warren Cancer Care Center, 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA 16365.
