Carole C. Zimmerman, 81, of Russell, PA, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday, September 9, 2017. Carole was born August 11, 1936 in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Lyle and Gertrude Dunn Moore. A lifelong area resident, Carole was a 1953 graduate of Warren High School, and a graduate of the Carnegie Institute as a Medical Assistant. She worked in the mailing department at the New Process- Blair Corporation for forty two years, from which she retired in 2001. Carole has been a longtime member of the Akeley United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women, serving as Treasurer, and involved in the Card Ministry, and the Church Newsletter. She enjoyed making her own greeting cards, gardening and canning, scrapbooking, and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed her family, her grandson and his accomplishments, holidays with family, and especially Christmas. She is survived by one daughter Jacqueline Cable and her husband Andrew, of Russell, PA, one son, Michael Zimmerman, and fiancé, Christin Peters, of Russell, PA; one grandson, James Cable, of Pittsburgh, PA; one sister, Shirley Cartwright and her husband Tim, of Greenfield , OH; an uncle, Kermit Dunn of Warren, PA, and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on February 22, 2008 by her husband, G. Donald Zimmerman. Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 12, from 4-7 pm at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA and Wednesday, September 13, for one hour prior to the funeral service to be held at 11:00 am at the Akeley United Methodist Church, Russell, PA, with Rev. Jerome Kennedy, pastor, officiating Burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Russell In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Akeley United Methodist Church, Russell, PA 16345 or to the American Cancer Society, Warren Unit, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, PA 16365.
