Bruce Andrew Messerly, 35, of Warren, PA, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2013.

Bruce was born December 10, 1977, in Warren, PA, the son of Bruce and April Reid Messerly.  Foremost, he loved life and was always grateful for all that he had. He was a 1996 Graduate of Warren Area High school and attended University of Pittsburgh, studying Astro-Physics.  Bruce was an accomplished photographer and self-taught guitarist.  He also enjoyed camping and fishing.    Every year since Bruce's first heart transplant, he attended Dr. Bill Neches Heart Camp for Kids in Pittsburgh, where he volunteered as a counselor and worked his way up to becoming a staff member.  Bruce will always be remembered for his attitude on life and sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, Bruce is survived by his maternal grandmother, Madelene Reid; two aunts, Kathy Dickey, and husband, Jeff, Warren, PA and Krystal Reid, also of Warren, PA; one cousin, Brianna Osborne, at school in Mansfield, PA; and his cats, Lucky and Lilly.

Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Messerly; his paternal grandparents, Bertram J. and Margaret Messerly; and his maternal grandfather and best friend, Mitchell Reid.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Tuesday, July 9, 2013  from 4 to 6 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there,  with Rev. Richard Hamilton, pastor, Stockton Community Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
