Obituary

Bonnie Joan Schrecengost, age 69, of Warren, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away after a several month illness on October 5th 2021. Bonnie was born on July 19, 1952 in Curwensville Pennsylvania to Otis and Anna Kephart. She graduated from Curwensville High School in 1971 and went on to attend Dubois Business College where she met her future husband, Dennis Schrecengost. They were married on May 11, 1974. Together they had two children, Lori and Randy. Bonnie loved Jesus and people. She was raised in the Christian and Missionary Alliance church of Curwensville and attended the Warren C&MA church for many years. She also participated in Ladies bible study at Warren Nazarene church with her dear friends. After staying at home to raise her children, Bonnie demonstrated her gentle spirit through working as a teacher's aide for special needs at South Street Elementary and Beaty Warren Middle School. Bonnie was most proud of being a mother and a Grammie, which was immediately evident if you ever had a conversation with her. She was always talking about her family, especially her grandchildren. She was proud of each of their abilities and talents, from academics to athletics, but what she valued most was their love of Jesus and how they shared God's love to others around them. Bonnie's faith in Jesus provides us assurance she is reunited with her brother, Dennis Kephart, and her father, Otis Kephart, who preceded her in death. Surviving are her mother, Anna Kephart, for whom Bonnie has cared for the last five years. Her husband of 47 years, Dennis Schrecengost, and her children's families; daughter Lori and husband Kenneth Hahn and daughters Gabrielle (Benjamin Faulkner) of Warren and Naomi (Elliott Neal) of Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, VA; son Randy and wife Kate Schrecengost and children Norah and Samuel of Lancaster, PA. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be sent to the Warren County School District Kids in Need u Fund (KIN Fund), which helps provide resources to students and families in the district. Friends can be received at the Warren Christian and Missionary Alliance Church from on Monday, October 11, from 11 am till 1 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held, with Rev. Doug McCracken, officiating. Online condolences to Bonnie's family may be sent by visiting www.petersonblickfuneralhome.com
