Blanche Waneta Johnson, 92, of Russell, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2015 at the Warren Manor. She was born February 6, 1923, in Warren, the daughter of the late Charles O. and Eva L. (Losey) Gage. Blanche was a Russell resident since the 1960's, a member of the Friendly Neighbor Club, and a former member of the Cable Hollow Evangelical Church. She enjoyed playing piano and singing, and was known for her beautiful soprano voice. Blanche was a homemaker who loved her rose gardens, and especially loved her family. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley J. Holt (Ted) of Russell, PA, Beach, CA and four sons, Milton L. Johnson (Karen) of Russell, PA, David C. Johnson (Marsha) of Russell, PA, Allen G. Johnson (Linda) of Russell, PA, Terry R. Johnson of Russell, PA; a sister, Nathalee Hale of Imperial, CA: nineteen grandchildren; Several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on August 11, 1992, by her husband, Glenn R. Johnson, whom she married on March 23, 1940; a son, Curtis G. Johnson on March 25, 2011; a sister, Grace Sumner, and a brother, Charles L. Gage. Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, on Tuesday, December 15, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service to be held there at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
