Billie Louise Eakin, 83, of Warren, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015, at John & Orpha Blair Hospice House. Billie was born January 21, 1932, in Denison, TX. She was the daughter of the late Edmond L. and Bessie L. (Cook) Russell.
Billie had been employed by J.C. Penney from 1967 to 1998, beginning her career in Cut Bank, MT and eventually retiring in Warren. She was a member of the Pleasant Community Church, and very active in many ways. Billie enjoyed, her work, her family and spending time with her many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Merle R. "Bob" Eakin, whom she married October 28, 1953; one son, Ken Eakin, and wife, Tracy, of Plano, TX; three siblings, Nell B. Sawyer, Grapevine, TX, Jerry R. Russell, and wife, Judy, Nocona, TX, and Mary Molsbee, Terrell, OK; three grandchildren, Megan, Connor and Nolan Eakin, all of Plano, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Russell, and in infancy, William Russell.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at which time, a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Michael Poindexter, pastor, Pleasant Community Church, officiating. Burial will be at Warren County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Community Church, 673 Pleasant Drive, Warren, PA 16365.
