Betty L. Hagberg, 85, of 3216 Hatch Run Rd., Warren, PA, died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at John and Orpha Blair Hospice House, Warren. Betty was born December 3, 1929 in Warren, PA., the daughter of the late Guy M. Uplinger and Bernice Durnell Uplinger Cole. She was a graduate of Warren High School, and attended North Park College in Chicago, Ill. She was formerly employed with the New Process Co., Sylvania, and the Warren Public Library. Betty was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, and a member of the Democratic Party, having been the Democratic candidate for the State Assembly, 65th District in 1977. She was the author of " The Gentle Book" , a selection of children's stories. Betty also received a private pilot license in 1964. She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Hagberg, whom she married on July 5, 1952; one daughter, Sue Spencer and husband Steve, Russell, PA; two sons, Tom Hagberg, Warren, and Tim Hagberg and wife Kitty, Warren; a sister, Mildred Beltz, Warren; a brother, Melvin Uplinger, East Brady, PA; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Curt Uplinger, and a sister, Maxine Anderson. A private burial was held in the Oakland Cemetery, Warren on Monday, September 21.
