Betty Jane Carlson passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at the age of 98. She was born on August 15, 1927, to Norman and Dorothy Ahlgren in Warren, PA, and was the second of seven children. A lifelong resident of the Warren area, Betty was devoted to faith and family. She was a member of Calvary Baptist and St Paul Lutheran Churches, and became the matriarch of the large and spirited Ahlgren clan. Betty married Gordon Erickson in Warren in 1949. They lived in Lakewood, NY until he died of polio in 1952. Betty moved back to Warren and began working at Struthers Wells. There, she met, and later married, Kenneth Carlson in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1989. Betty is survived by her children, John (Joyce) Erickson, Iron Mountain, MI, Jim (Debi) Carlson, Marriottsville, MD and Dottie (Tom) Lobdell, Warren, PA; grandchildren Gordon Erickson, Julie Hanna, Abby Carlson, Beth Carlson, Emily Daly, Drew Lobdell, Jimmy Lobdell and Ellie Lobdell; nine great grandchildren; her sisters, Sharon (Roger) Pike and Judy Turner; and her beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, a great grandson, two brothers, two sisters, two nephews and a great nephew. Friends will be received at Peterson Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm, and at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 306 Conewango Ave., Warren, PA, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:00 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Reverend Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave., Warren, PA, or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
