Barbara A. Lockerman, age 85, of Warren, Pennsylvania, and formerly of Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2022, after a brief illness at the home of her son-in-law and daughter. Barbara was born on July 21, 1936, in Roxborough, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Doris V. Boyer. She was a 1954 graduate of Roxborough High School in Roxborough, Pennsylvania. She also attended Penn State University. Barbara was a devoted advocate for individuals with autism and other special needs. She organized an annual event held in Washington, Pennsylvania, called "The Happening," to benefit those with special needs. In addition, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing the piano, and spending time with her family. Barbara is survived by two daughters, Leslie Lockerman of Warren, Pennsylvania, and Andrea Stapleford, also of Warren, Pennsylvania; son-in-law Fred Kylander; three grandchildren, Sarah Washek and her husband Jake of Erie, Pennsylvania, Matthew Stapleford and his wife Nikki of Sarver, Pennsylvania, and John Kylander of Warren, Pennsylvania; two great grandchildren, Kinley Stapleford, and Lana Stapleford; and her sister Judy Buehler of Warren, Pennsylvania.
