Aubrey Ellen Sonney, 20, of Tidioute, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 11, 2015 as a result of a car accident. Aubrey was born November 10, 1994, in Tidioute, PA. She is the daughter of David L. Sonney and Christine A. (Storer) Sonney.
Aubrey graduated Salutatorian of Tidioute Community Charter School class of 2013. She excelled at trap shooting, was a part of Drama Club and the Civil War Club. She also played softball and basketball.
Currently in her junior year at California University of Pennsylvania, Aubrey had majored in secondary education; she also had obtained a work-study through the Bursar's office. She aspired to become a social studies teacher after graduation. In her off time during high school, and summers off in college, she had waitressed at local restaurants. She was also active in the, and the Penn State Educator's Association, and had become Coaching Assistant Certified.
She was a lifelong member of the Tidioute Baptist Church, lending help to the Sunday school classes.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandmother, Mary E. Sonney, Warren, PA; sister, Annalise Sonney, of Tidioute and Appomattox, VA; aunt Caroline Dukes and uncle Kevin, West Hickory, PA, uncle Douglas Storer and aunt Denise, Clarion, PA, aunt Charlene Wise and uncle David, Hinsdale, NY, aunt Diane Crone, Warren, PA, and aunt Deborah Rutenbur and uncle Mike, also of Warren, PA; her boyfriend, Daniel Bonner, Tidioute, PA; and several great-aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many, special friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dale and Charlotte Storer; her paternal grandfather, Carl Sonney; and uncle, Alan Crone.
Friends will be received on Thursday, October 15, at the Tidioute Baptist Church, 218 Main Street, Tidioute, PA, from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 pm., and on Friday, October 16, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at which time a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Andy Taylor, pastor, Tidioute Baptist Church, officiating, with Rev. David Roach, pastor, Harborcreek Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Swede Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Tidioute Charter School, or to the Tidioute Baptist Church, 218 Main St. Tidioute, PA, 16351
