Arlene Jane Rapp, 88, of Warren, passed away at her home on Monday, October 19, 2015. Arlene was born January 27, 1927, in Conneaut, OH. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Cress (Gordon) Aldrich.
Arlene was a graduate of Muskingum College, class of 1948. She was employed as a lab technician at the Warren General Hospital from 1964 to 1982, from which she retired. Arlene had been a member of the Eastern Star in Ohio for over 70 years. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, the General Joseph Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, and had acted as a local 4H leader for many years. She was also a member of the Sugar Grove Mission Covenant Church, and enjoyed knitting.
She is survived by her children, James Rapp, and wife, Alice, Warren, PA, Rebecca Jameson, and husband, James, Youngsville, PA, Daniel Rapp, and wife, Judy, Warren, PA, Margaret "Peg" Mitchell, and husband, Lloyd, WY, and Diana Sleeman, and husband, Robert, Warren, PA; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 4 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Leo M. Rapp; brother, Gordon Aldrich; and daughter-in-law, Carol Rapp.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Tuesday, October 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., and for one hour prior to the funeral service to be held there on Wednesday, October 21, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Brian Haight, pastor, Sugar Grove Mission Covenant Church, officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the 4H, 100 Dillon Drive, Suite 101, Youngsville, PA 16371; Boy Scouts of America, 316 4th Ave, Warren, PA 16365; or Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Avenue, Warren, PA 16365.
