Obituary

Arlene Romaine (Rydgren) Mullen, 91, of Warren, PA, passed away June 30, 2026, at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House in Warren.

Arlene was born February 26, 1935, in Warren, the daughter of the late Reynolds Romain Rydgren and Bernice Arlene (Dalrymple) Rydgren.

Arlene married Bert “Don” Mullen on May 12, 1956.

Arlene will be remembered as a loving wife of 69 years, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. Arlene is survived by her children, Nancy Mullen of Warren, Daniel Mullen and wife Sandra of Cranberry Township, Craig Mullen Sr. and wife Judy of Warren, and Blaine Mullen of Sheffield; a brother, Stuart Rydgren and wife Sally of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Craig Jr., Ryan, Kirk, Scott, Kathleen, and Donovan; and eight great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, her parents, and a brother, Alan. This past January, Mom said “she had lived a very happy life”.

Arlene graduated from Warren Area High School in 1953. She organized many class reunions in Warren and St. Petersburg, FL.

Arlene worked at Warren National Bank, Marine Bank and from PNC Bank, beginning as a Bank Teller and then retired as a Bank Officer of over 20 years.

Arlene was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Warren. She served many years as Treasurer, was a member of church council, was on many church committees, and was also served the church as organist and pianist.

She loved to cook and bake and hosted many family gatherings. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting and counted cross stitch. Bert and Arlene were avid travelers visiting their family across the United States, including snow birding in Florida for many years. For the last 14 years, they ended dinner playing 2 games of Skipbo, with mom winning more than dad.

Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave E, Warren, PA, on Thursday, July 2, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, and for one hour prior to the funeral service that will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 3, at 11:00am, with Rev. Ralph Culp, of Covenant United Methodist Church, officiating. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s Facebook page as well.

Interment will take place at Warren County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Arlene’s name may be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave, Warren, PA, 16365.
