Arlene F. Galough Lee, 95, of Warren, PA, and formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Warren Manor. Arlene was born December 24, 1928, in Gloversville, NY, the daughter of the late Glen and Ruth Springstead. She graduated from Gloversville High School, Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and did postgraduate work at various colleges. She was employed as an elementary teacher from Vestal Central Schools from which she retired in 1984. Arlene was founder and former director of Chapel Choir at Holiday Out Chapel-by-the-Sea in Jensen Beach, FL; former member, accompanist, and director of Treasure Coast Choral Society in Port St. Lucie, FL; founder and director of inmate choir at Indian River Correctional Institution; and interim choir director at Faith Congregational Church, Port St. Lucie, from 2007-2009. Arlene was a member of Faith Congregational Church in Port St. Lucie, FL; Southeast Florida Emmaus Community; Kairos Prison Ministry; and Harbor Branch Oceanographic Society. Arlene is survived by two children, Paul Galough and companion Mary Alice Pasenan of Melrose, NY, and Patricia Murphy and husband James of Warren, PA; grandchildren, Scott and wife Eileen Galough of Rotunda West, FL, Bryan and wife Jennifer Galough of Fonda NY, Nelson Murphy and companion Will Peterson of Elyria,OH, Tyler Cawley and wife Sam of Davenport, FL, and Arthur Anderjack of Jensen Beach, FL; great grandchildren, William Curtis Galough, Ella Marie Galough, and Emily Jane Galough; nephews, Richard Springstead and Mark Galough. In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Galough; second husband, Robert E. Lee; daughter, Priscilla "Penny" Anderjack; brother Robert Springstead; sister-in-law, Bettye Maidment; daughter-in-law, Karen Galough; and nephew, Ronald Springstead.
