Ann E. Soderberg, 88, 202 Wood Street, died at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House following a brief illness.
She was born December 7, 1923, in Olean, N.Y. to Edward and Ruby Parish Randall and was later adopted by her aunt and uncle, Jim and Marguriette Parish. A Warren resident most of her life, she was a Registered Nurse at Warren General Hospital her entire career that began in 1947.
Ann was a member of both the Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild for many years, and the First Lutheran Church, where she was a Sharing Place volunteer. She was an active member of the Allegheny Community Center where she enjoyed her friends at lunch each day. Ann was also a member of the Eastern Star #478 in Youngsville, the Order of the Amaranth, the former Business and Professional Women of Warren and the Warren Women's Christian Connection. Ann served as a volunteer in the Hospice of Warren County office for many years.
Surviving are her son, Tracy Soderberg, Pittsfield; a daughter, Kris Soderberg, Warren; a step-daughter-in-law, Marjorie Hamm Soderberg, Hamilton, N.Y.; five step-grandchildren and their families along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Soderberg, on April 25, 1999, and whom she married on January 26, 1961, in Youngsville; a brother, Frank Randall; a step-son, Dale Soderberg; and her step-mother, Martha Parish.
Friends will be received on Friday, March 30, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, Pa. 16365, and for one hour prior to an 11 a.m. funeral service at the First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third St., Warren on Saturday, March 31, 2012. Officiating are The Rev. Matthew R. Scott, Priest-in-charge of Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, the Rev. David Blank and the Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastors of First Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
