Obituary

Ann L. Orinko, 100, a lifelong resident of Sheffield and current resident of the Lutheran Home of Kane, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, at UPMC Kane on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Born on February 15, 1926, in Castana, Iowa, Ann was the daughter of Frank and Edna (McCall) Livengood. After graduating from Castana High School, she traveled by train to Clovis, California, where she met the love of her life, Anthony "Tony" M. Orinko, who was serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. The couple married on August 5, 1944, and together built a life centered on faith, family, and community. Following Tony's military deployment overseas, Ann moved back to Iowa before making her home in Sheffield. Tony preceded her in death on October 20, 1998, after 54 years of marriage.

Ann worked as a cashier at Sheffield Pharmacy, retiring more than once because she enjoyed staying connected to the people she served. A devoted member of St. Anthony's Church, she generously shared her time as a Eucharistic Minister, served on the Bereavement Committee, and was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Known for her warm hospitality and exceptional homemade pierogies, Ann delighted in teaching her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends the family tradition. She enjoyed traveling with the Sheffield Hospitality Center and especially treasured trips and time spent with her grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater joy than being surrounded by her growing family. Her smile shone brightest in the company of her beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her children, Dennis Orinko; Patricia (Larry) Gross of Meriden, Connecticut; Reta (Charles) Rice of DuBois; and Antoinette "Toni" (Marion) Bell; her sister, Virginia Black of Auburn, Washington; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ann was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Jean Cosgrove and Nancy Brezeale, and her brothers, Richard, Robert, and Veryl Livengood.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Pennsylvania Avenue East, Warren, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at St. Anthony's Church, Sheffield. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sheffield Hospitality Center, P.O. Box 786, Sheffield, PA, or the Sheffield Fire Department. Online condolences may be shared at www.petersonblickfuneralhome.com or on the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Facebook page.
