When I was a young child, people would ask me -- "What do you want to be when you grow up", and my answer would be -- "My Grandpa."  My grandfather, Dick Probst, was a fun-loving and quick-witted man.  Thanks to he and my Grandmother, we had the greatest gatherings growing up -- he loved jokes and spending time together as a family.  If we were out to dinner, he would always want to know where other patrons were from, and have a kind word to pass along to each of them.  We had many adventures, some to my Grandmother's (and maybe my mother's) dismay.  I was his sidekick, as we rode in his yellow pick-up truck listening to his favorite accordion player.  He called me "Champy". He was a man who was a friend to all.  He'd pick up a hitchhiker anytime, and deliver a battery for no charge.  He had a heart filled with kindness and generosity.  He worked hard to provide a good life for his family, friends, and any one he knew.  As my family and I mourn our loss, we remember the wonderful life he filled with love and great memories for all of us.  I'll forever keep him in my thoughts, and live with him in my heart.
