Marjorie E. Olsen, 97, of Warren, Pa., passed away Monday February 22, 2021, at the Watson Memorial Home. Marjorie was born September 30, 1923 in Warren, Pa., to the late Rollin and Eva Samuelson Merritt. A lifelong Warren resident, she was a 1941 graduate of Warren Area High School. Years prior, she was employed at Loranger Plastics, then at Sylvania for 25 years, from which she retired as a Secretary. Marjorie married the late Lee F. Olsen on July 20. 1946, and together raised their family, and enjoyed many camping trips to Chapman Dam. Marjorie was the longest living member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Warren, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Women’s Circle. Marjorie’s greatest joy was being a wife, a mother, grandmother, and a homemaker for her family. She is survived by two sons, Timothy (Clara) Olsen, of Warren, Pa., Larry (Kathy) Olsen of Rockwell, N.C. , a sister, Ethelyn Johnson of Vero Beach, Florida; six grandchildren, Wendy (Michael) Haslet, Brenda (Donald) Garriepy, Andrew Olsen, Jessica Olsen and Kimberly Olsen; and eight great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three siblings. Marvin Merritt, Betty Roush, and Rev. Calvin Merritt; and a granddaughter; Heidi Olsen. The family will receive friends at the Calvary Baptist Church, 445 Conewango Ave., Warren, on Saturday, February 27, from 10 am until 11am, at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Joel Dingeldein, pastor, and pastor Timothy Olsen, co-officiating. Internment will follow in the Warren County Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial donations be directed to the Calvary Baptist Church, 445 Conewango Ave., Warren, PA, 16365 or to the Watson Home, 1200 Conewango Ave. Warren, PA 16365. Praising God for the long life he granted to Aunt Marjorie. As her niece I have many cherished memories of being with my Warren family on summer vacations. Safe in the arms of Jesus, I know you are home, and I will see you when Jesus calls or comes for me.
