James W. McCollough, age 76, passed away February 29, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 19, 1944 in Lockport, NY to the late Gilbert and Dorothy McCollough. Jim loved the lord. Jim’s faith and humor stood strong through his six year Cancer journey. Jim and Lynda were married on December 16, 1961. They had a strong and loving marriage for 58 years. He retired from Osram Sylvania in 2003. Through his retirement he delivered Meals on Wheels, worked for Napa part-time and also worked in the Blueberry Hill Pro shop. The holiday meal program at the Trinity Memorial was started by Jim and his wife Lynda along with Gail and Barb Winslow. From early morning to late afternoon they shopped, cooked and delivered meals to many for Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter. For many years it was a rewarding outreach which grew to need many more volunteers and was later moved to the First Lutheran Church. Jim loved golfing and working in the pro shop with his son Gary and grandson Jacob. He enjoyed the hugs he received from the ladies golf league. In his early years, he appreciated mountain biking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and canoeing. He and Lynda enjoyed road trips together to the south and southwest in their Tundra. He loved his two daily walks to his favorite wooded area. Jim is survived by his wife Lynda Swanson McCollough, sons James (Cindy) McCollough, Gary (Jill) McCollough, four grandsons, Riley, Jacob, William and James (JT) McCollough, 1 grandaughter Lacey McCollough, Travis Moore, 1 great-grandson Carson McCollough, 1 great-granddaughter Scarlett Moore, his brothers Joe (Carol) McCollough, brothers-in-law Carl (Linda) Swanson, James (Cathy) Swanson and sister-in-law Gloria (Robert) Gates, step-brothers-in-law Kevin (Pam) Martin, Kurt (Jane) Martin, step-sisters-in-law Darlene (Ralph) Miller, Sue (Ray) Lauffenburger, Karen Martin; Jim had many nieces and nephews who adored him and who he always made feel as if they were his favorite. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved him very much and he shared special memories with each. He also has many close cousins who will miss him. He is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Dorothy McCollough, his father-in-law Carl Swanson, in-laws Carol (Swanson) and Bill Martin special aunt and Uncle William and Julie Collins, brother and sister-in-law Gilbert (Bud) and Susan McCollough, sister-in-law Marsha Swanson and step-brother-in-law James Martin. Jim shared his love with all his family and friends in his neighborhood, at church, the Blueberry Golf Club and the Moose and Eagles Clubs. Friends will be received from 10 AM – 12 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the former Irvindale School 18 Hohman Road, Warren, PA. A memorial service will follow at 12 PM, with Pastor James Swanson, nephew and pastor of Pleasant Community Church, officiating. A luncheon will follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Warren Cancer Care Center 105 Lee St. Warren, PA, or Hospice of Warren, 1 Main Ave. Warren, PA.
