Doris Jewell Vicini, 92, of Weldbank, PA; wife of Donald C. Vicini I; went to be with her Lord Jesus on February 4, 2020. She was born on June 9, 1927 to the late Charles T. and Velma (Ellis) Jewell of Youngsville, PA. Doris was a 1946 graduate of Warren High School. After graduation, she was employed by the New Process Co. in Warren for several years. Doris and Don were married on April 15, 1950 in St. Clara Church in Clarendon, PA. She was the office secretary for the Citizens Coal Co. in Warren, which was owned and operated by her husband; and later in his sand, gravel and topsoil business. In earlier years, she was a member of the Warren Chapter of Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed music, singing and many wonderful trips across America, Italy and Canada with Don, their children and grandchildren. Throughout her life, she showed endless love and compassion for her family; along with giving many uplifting words of encouragement. Doris had an unwavering Christian Faith and shared a smile of joy and belief that, by God’s grace; tomorrow will be a wonderful day! Her family will always remember her love for life, her beautiful smile, sweet personality, and especially her sparkling blue eyes that truly were a window into her heart. Her life’s verse was Hebrews 13:5, God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So now, she has left her earthly body and has stepped into her Savior’s healing presence; forever at rest. His promise to her fulfilled. Doris is survived by her husband, Donald C. Vicini I, of 70 years of marriage; son, Donald (Charnae) Vicini II, of Raleigh, NC; two daughters: Debi (Leonard) Brown of Mt. Jewett, PA; and Devonne (Jerry) Lundgren of Jamestown, NY; eight grandchildren: Josh (Chanel) Vicini of New York City; Danielle, Matthew and Jenna Vicini of Raleigh, NC; Jared and Elisha Brown of Mt. Jewett, PA; Craig (Lori) Lundgren of Poquoson, VA; serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Norfolk, VA and Julie (Collin Weber) of Arlington, VA, and one great-granddaughter, Eliana Lundgren, born to Craig and Lori Lundgren on February 4, 2020. Also surviving is a sister, Shirley Thomas of Casper, WY; a sister-in-law, Joanne Jewell of Youngsville, PA and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Arnold (Glynette) Jewell and Charles (Joanne) Jewell, Jr.; two sisters: Florence (Thomas) Armstrong and Maxine (Robert) Newman; and a grandson Dustin Brown. Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Thursday, February 6, 2019 from 3 to 6 pm, and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 11 am on Friday, February 7, with Rev. Stephen Schreiber, pastor, Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Warren.
