I had not seen Dick in many years but I remember him fondly as a fixture at the West End softball fields and at the YMCA gym as an umpire and referee for many of the games I played in during my younger days. He was the kind of guy that you could chat with before, during, and after the games and when I was young and would see him I would always enjoyed chatting with him because the conversations with him were always entertaining and brought about much laughter.
