I had the pleasure of working with Birte for more than two decades at the Times-Observer. She was quite good at her craft as a journeyman printer, which required a lot of skill in those days. More, she was an always pleasant, helpful and cheerful co-worker with a ready laugh and a keen eye to get things right. My prayers are that she rest in peace and that her family find consolation in good memories.
