He is the son of the late Ralph and Beatrice (Tower) Babcock. Charles was employed by Sylvania for 38 years, retiring as a wire drawer. He was a member of the North Warren Presbyterian Church. A very active outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and his coon-hunting dogs. He also coached in Lander for the Upper Allegheny Hot Stove League, and was an avid race fan. He is survived by one daughter, Debbie Pitoniak, and husband, Joe, of CO, and four sons, Terry Tower, and wife, Patty, of FL, Chuck Tower, Jr., and wife, Renee, of North Warren, James Tower, and wife, Amanda, of Russell, and Matthew Tower, and companion, Tammy, of Youngsville. He also has six grandchildren, Joey Pitoniak, Micheal Pitoniak, Jennifer Pitoniak, David Tower, Phoebe Tower and John Tower; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on June 10, 2008, by his wife, Margaret S. Tower, whom he married May 27, 1967. Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, on Wednesday, September 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held there on Thursday, September 17, at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Marcus Briggs, officiating. They say it takes a village to raise a child. I believe this is true. Charlie was definitely an influence on me and many of the other young men of Lander in this way. Proud to have had him as a coach and a friend! You will be missed! Prayers for your family!
