Edward Carl Almendinger, 83, of Brockway Lane, Sheffield, Pa., passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center.

Mr. Almendinger was born November 14, 1928, in Warren, Pa., the son of the late Frank and Marion Stanton Almendinger. Edward was a member of the Eagles Club.  He enjoyed camping, mowing lawns and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Stranburg Almendinger, whom he married on July 24, 1976; three daughters, Shirley Ecker, Ashville, NY., Patricia Fellows, Sheffield, Pa.,  Debbie Myer and husband, James, also of Sheffield, Pa.; one son, John Almendinger and wife, Eugenia, Starbrick, Pa.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Dick and Bob Almendinger.

Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Gathering at the Sheffield VFW, 1 Austin Hill Road, Sheffield, on Sunday, August 5, at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sheffield Volunteer Fire Department, 318 South Main Street, Sheffield, PA 16347.

Carol, Patty, and Debbie....Wish we could be there in person and give all of you and yours a big hug. We adored Ed and know he will be missed very much by all who knew him....Love you all.....

Our prayers are with you at this time, but we will remember him on the blue golf cart puttinz along or out mowing the lawn up at camp, or sitting on the porch
visiting with you both, or the two of you just riding around in the truck.
