Joseph J. Walczak 64, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Warren General Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer. Joe was born on 1/27/1955 in Erie, PA. At age 19 he moved to Warren. He worked for 45 years as a very skilled and popular hair stylist, retiring from Modern Edge with Margie Palmieri. Joe has a strong faith in God and in 2011 he experienced the RCIA process and was confirmed into the Catholic Church. Joe lived his faith caring for others with kindness and intent. He always enjoyed creating a lovely home for his family and friends. All who knew and loved Joe appreciated the magical way he transformed any space into a comfy, cozy, elegant environment. Since retirement, Joe was an active member of the YMCA where he enjoyed spending time with good friends. Survived by his loving wife Barb, 2 children Leslie Kolenda; Gregory & Allie Kolenda, 2 grandsons Bodhi and Arlo; 3 cousins Judy, Jean and Rennie; mother in law Catherine Haas; sisters in law and brother in law; nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephew and his God daughter Caroline LaVigne. Friends will be received at Peterson Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna. Ave. E, Warren, PA, on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 6-8 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Church R.C. Church on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10:00 am. with Rev. Rick Tomasone, Celebrant. Burial will be in the Erie County Memorial Gardens Memorial contributions can be made to the Warren YMCA Livestrong Program.
