JoAnn P. Lauffenburger, 78, of Warren, PA, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, following a brief illness.  JoAnn was born March 17, 1939, in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Theresa (Johnson) Plowright.

JoAnn was a 1957 graduate of Warren High School.  She worked for Warren Bank & Trust, and then Warren National Bank until her children were born.  For 41 years, she was a member of the Ladies' Church Bowling League, of which she served as President for 36 years.  She was also a member of the BGs—Bowling Grandmas, for 35 years.  A great supporter of veterans’, JoAnn volunteered as a caretaker for the veteran memorials at Oakland Cemetery; and as photographer and videographer for the Warren County Memorial Park services.  She enjoyed gardening at home and for Bob & Sally Metzgar.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Paul E. Lauffenburger, Jr.;  two daughters, Debbie Brown, and husband, Michael, of Warren, PA, and Patti DiPenti, and husband, Tim, also of Warren, PA; one son, Todd Lauffenburger, and wife, Mary, of Akeley, PA;  one sister, Janie Culver, and husband, John, of Scandia, PA; five grandchildren, Brian Brown, Justin DiPenti, Kyle DiPenti, Kayla Lauffenburger, and Jenna Lauffenburger; one great-granddaughter, Bailey Staulder; her “bowling daughter,” Kellie; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by two brothers who died in infancy.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Sunday, May 21, from 4 to 7 p.m., and at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street, Warren, on Monday, May 22, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with Dr. Rev. Mark E. Hecht, pastor, and Brian Grimm, chaplain, FCI McKean, co-officiating.

Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution should consider Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Avenue, Warren, PA 16365; or Warren County Veterans Council, 204 Fourth Ave., Warren, PA 16365.

To Janie, Paul and the entire family I wish to extend my condolences on the sudden passing of cousin JoAnn. We worked together on the family genealogy from the old Larson-Pearson reunion for many years. It was a delight to know her and to visit there on Cobham Park. She will surely be missed. As a shut-in now, I can't get out for the services but you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

We have special memories of our childhood together growing up in Scandia as neighbors. Remembering music on the accordion, harmonica and guitar. What a talented special friend we had singing and square dancing. Always ready for a walk in the woods and just enjoying life to the fullest. Our lives changed with marriage and moving, but our children still went to school together. Now the miles separate us and prevent us from being with you at this sad time of loss. We look forward to seeing you once again dear friend as we know where we are all going. Praise God! Terry and Barb
