Naomi Jean Stewart, 78, of Busti Road, Sugar Grove, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at home surrounded by her family.

Jean was born September 22, 1934, in Luxor, PA, the daughter of the late John and Rose Thompson Garris. Jean and her husband, Ralph, started their family and moved to Warren in the 1950's.  She had many hobbies and in her early years, enjoyed riding motorcycles.  She was a huge puzzle fan, especially of jigsaw and crosswords. Jean also enjoyed Westerns, country music, angels, hummingbirds and holidays.  In her family, she was famous for her baked beans.  A wonderful mother, and loving wife, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will truly be missed.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Stewart, whom she married on March 8, 1969 in Celeron, NY; five children, Lee Posey, and husband, Gary, Norvelt, PA, Daniel Stewart, who lives at home, Darlene Sapanero, and her companion, Dean, Warren, PA, Susan Stewart, who also lives at home, and Jay R. Stewart, and wife, Jody, Jamestown, NY; three sisters, Sandra Marol, and husband, Gerald, Latrobe, PA, Nellie Velkey, also of Latrobe, PA and Rose Lynn Personett, and husband, Bruce, Chicago, IL; four brothers, John Garris, Mt. Pleasant, PA, Charles Garris, Larry Garris, and James Garris, all of Greensburg, PA; eight grandchildren, Tammy Hutchinson, and husband, Jim, Sherry Lamm, and husband, Tim, both  of NC, Gary Posey, and wife, Jennifer, SC, Tanya Card, and husband, Jeremy, Sugar Grove, PA, Mario Sapanero, Jr., and companion, Joey Lynn, Sharon, PA, Tony Sapanero, New Castle, PA, Justin Stewart, Jamestown, NY and Jeffrey Stewart, and companion, Courtney, Celeron, NY; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ralph E. Stewart, III; three brothers, George, Roger and Richard Garris; four sisters, Ruth Kunkle, Betty Welch, Patricia Mooney and Ella Mae Angelo; and her son-in-law, Mario Sapanero, Sr.

Friends will be received at the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church on Monday, January 21, from 12 noon to 2 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Billy Hughes, pastor, and Rev. Preston Cathcart, associate pastor, co-officiating.

Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
